“Sunflowers” An Original Vintage Oil Painting

This late 1940s / early mid-century, still-life painting is a lovely reminder of a recent drive to the UK from south of France and the fields full of sunflowers. The vintage oil on wooden board, with its vase of vibrant sunflowers has been painted in a fabulous graphic style with broad, confident sweeps of colour. Measures 58cm x 42cm, signed bottom right C. Decker Sr. Framed in a reddish wooden frame, contemporary with the age of the artwork. There is a light scratch on the painting, see photo, though this doesn’t distract from the image.
