Antique French Faience Plate
£32.00
Pretty hand-painted antique French plate with deep sides and decorated with flowers in blues, greens and mustard against a blue scalloped edge. The hand-thrown plate possibly hails from the Quimper region of Northern France, known for tin glazed eathernware of this style. Dates from around 1890 and is a lovely example of decorative hand-painted faience. Good condition for its age, no chips or cracks, some very slight wear along the glaze. Measures 21cm in diameter x 3cm deep and has a lovely unusual black glaze on the reverse.
